Drive anywhere in the Willamette Valley and you will see acres and acres of farmland abandoned or lying fallow. Invasive species often dominate these areas and outbuildings are frequently in disrepair. Owners are often overwhelmed to maintain them and are unsure what to do.
Food & Habitat
OSALT partners with groups like Friends of Family Farmers to connect land with stewards and growers, building soil and enhancing nature and getting a yeild as a goals, working with natural succession at borders and edges to enhance habitat, prevent erosion and keep invasives in check.
